A control platform for hospital medical gas systems

G. SAMARAS S.A. is an international company based in Thessaloniki, Greece. It has worked in medical gases since 1968 and holds more than 85% of the Greek market. Its products and services cover everything related to medical gas supply systems.

G. SAMARAS needed a control platform that monitors the distribution of medical gases inside hospitals, in line with the medical regulations and specifications of each country.

It also needed to control the pumps that compress the gases and generate the vacuum in each hospital’s central machine room. To cover more of the hospital market, it wanted a nurse call system as well.

We designed and produced several embedded platforms to the customer’s requirements. They monitor, record and signal the working parameters of every gas, pass them on by telemetry, and comply with the medical regulations.

We also developed a nurse call system that is low in cost and rich in features, including two‑way voice communication.

The platforms are part of the medical gas systems that G. SAMARAS supplies to hospitals. More than 2,000 units are installed in hospitals every year, and the two companies have worked together for 30 years.
