Electricity transmission tower at dusk
  • Won through international bids
  • International and European standards
01

The customer

PPC Inspectra is a subsidiary of the Public Power Corporation (PPC), Greece’s main power provider. It was set up to test and certify the components needed to generate, transmit and distribute electricity across Greece.

Today it is one of the certified testing laboratories in Greece for a range of electrical components. Its customers are component suppliers and grid operators, mainly from Greece and also from other countries.

02

The challenge

PPC Inspectra needs test equipment that complies with international and European standards. It already owns many instruments made by specialised manufacturers around the world.

For some specific tests, however, very few manufacturers offer the equipment, and usually at high prices because demand is scarce. PPC Inspectra buys through international bids and decides on price, quality, guarantee and delivery time.

03

What we built

elpra has won several of these bids over many years. We design and build the specialised equipment, with high functional quality, additional software features, full support and very competitive prices.

One example is an artificial ageing system for high‑power grid cables.

04

The result

After many years with elpra’s equipment, PPC Inspectra enters new markets and takes on new, demanding tests with confidence. It usually does so after confirming that elpra will support it and take part in the next international bid.
